These polls are starting to make me believe I've lead a very boring and sheltered life! Most of them list many more options than would have occurred to me. For example, on this one, my first thoughts were white. brown, and egg fried.
I likely eat brown the most. Cook by boiling. My favorite dish that includes rice is shrimp Creole.
I didn't know half these types of rice until I compiled the poll.
Don’t despair you aren’t alone 😁
@spunkycumfun
That’s honesty
@EnyojLife It's one of the reasons why I do these polls, to find out more.
You know these polls are torture, don't you? For those of us who've had 2/3 of the options, it's just not possible to pick a favorite. Haven't heard of swarna or bomba rice, though...
For some reason now I want rice pudding with raisins and a sprinkling of cinnamon on top.
But for those looking for a good fried rice recipe...
I like to get people to not sit on the fence by choosing one only.
Thanks for sharing the fried rice recipe.
Jasmine is divine. Usually at home consume brown, wild, white. Boil in bag usually then often place in large pot along with: ground up turkey meat, onions, celery. Add spices and various ingredients like olive oil, wine, sweet and sour sauce, etc. Not all at same time as CA change flavorings. Like use Cajun spices or Safran. Let slow cook for few hours. Place on plate can put meat items on top or on side as well as on side beans. Your beef on rice looked good
We have a boil in a bag rice here but it's not so popular nowadays.
I've never heard of many of these, but then again, I lead a pretty sheltered life.
I hadn't heard of many of them either until I did this poll.
I voted for Jasmine Rice as that is my favorite rice, but I use it to make different kinds of flavored rice as well. Another great battle you have here going on.
I hope you weekend continues to treat you well..
I think jasmine rice is going to win this poll.
Basmati ( but includes ways prepared egg friend, sticky, sushi, pilau , cajun ) . Now where can i go find chilli con carne , have not had that in years.
I had a chilli con carne a few days ago. It was delicious!
Being from the south I was raised on rice! Love it, rice & gravy, rice pudding , it goes good with everything, although I haven't tried it with pussy yet, but then everything goes good with that.
I prefer a cream pie over rice pudding!
My fav is wild rice. But truthfully I prefer a mix of grains. Long and wild rice - Yum!
I've not cooked wild rice. In fact, wild rice doesn't seem to be sold here.
I like brown rice the best. I cook my rice in a rice cooker, although I do know how to properly cook it using the stovetop method.
Right now, there's a rice shortage in Japan due to concerns over the Nankai Trough earthquake, impact on harvest from the high temps this summer, and more inbound tourists eating rice. The surplus built up during the pandemic is now depleted. But, officials are saying that the outlook of this year's harvest is that there's enough for everybody so there's no need to hoard rice as soon as it hits the shelves.
A rice shortage in Japan sounds serious.
Um, hello. Rice-a-Roni rice pilaf! It's the San Francisco treat!
Clearly I need to go to San Francisco for rice.
Brown rice is my choice. I like it with most anything. I do like egg fried rice
I've never had brown rice but I do like egg fried rice especially with Chinese dishes.
