Standing Rib Roast- rare- I do not eat grey meat- and that comment can be taken several ways hehehe
I've never come across grey meat. It's red or less red from where I'm standing.
@spunkycumfun well done is grey well overcooked
@pocogato12 Thanks, I've got you now.
I chose Other. For the most part, I stopped eating red meat several years ago. Prior to that, I would order prime rib. Growing up, roast beef was a traditional Sunday dinner…steak was too expensive for our family of 5.
Roast beef was also my Sunday roast when I was a child.
I love a good Ribeye steak on the grill, cooked medium well, and smothered in sauteed mushrooms!
I love mushrooms, as well as fries, with my steak.
I like all steaks that Cowboy grills here at home. When out, I most often order a small sirloin, medium. Hot pink center. Like me
I like hot pink centres but not in a steak!
I eat steak maybe once a year. Spunky I’m disappointed that you didn’t take this opportunity to note that beef has the highest greenhouse gas emissions of any meat, by FAR!
It doesn't surprise me that steak emits a lot of greenhouse gases.
@spunkycumfun
@smartasswoman And I love cheese too!
@spunkycumfun I do too, and definitely eat THAT more often than once a year. More like daily. 😬
@smartasswoman But at least I like rice, beans, lentils and other vegetables - that's my dietary offset for eating too much steak and cheese!
I enjoy any kind of steak!! I prefer it medium to medium well. We have a chain of Steak Houses called Shula's Steak House named for the Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula.
I was at his fist restaurant at Miami Lakes not far from where the coach lived. I had their 48oz Porterhouse. If you eat it they will put your name up on a plaque. I actually got my name up on it for eating it. It wasn't easy for me to eat it but after looking at some of the folks who accomplished that feat, I saw two football players who actually ate two 48oz steaks in one sitting. One of those guys had them with two lobster tails. I don't think I can eat 48oz steak again.
You clearly can eat a lot of steak in one sitting. I can eat no more than 12 ounces of steak on my plate!
That sounds similar to a place in Amarillo Texas. Don't know exactly the size but remember when I was there it looked like a roast. The place was called The Big Texan. Don't know if they did a plaque but if you ate the steak and all the fixings you got the meal for free. If I remember right they also gave the person a certificate stating that they were full of bull. The one time I was there I saw a college kid a finish one.
@spunkycumfun I'd settle for an 8 to 12 oz steak now a days.
@CallMeMrWrong69 Age does that to us I suspect. And I also suspect age makes us appreciate more an aged steak.
Tube Steak
I now know what that means. A naughty choice!
I don't eat red meat.
That's a healthy choice.
I understand you're need to limit us to one choice, but there are so many kinds I like, though thick slices of fried or grilled fruit and vegetables are certainly not one!
I generally prefer it grilled medium. A special treat for me is smoked prime rib, something I don't even attempt at home.
With my polls, I like people to not sit on the fence!
So delicious 🤤 good.. I'm so happy to be back again to your blog 😊
I'm now back from my exile. It's good to see that you're still around.
@spunkycumfun thanks 😊😊😊 man
It's crazy expensive here, but I do like porterhouse steaks. I try to get myself one and grill it when I go to Michigan. I didn't the last time since I went on a cruise and got my fill of bacon and roast beef.
Steaks are quite expensive here too.
Voted for strip steak (NY). I’m not steak lover, meat in general (except lamb 😋) but if I have it, I like it rare.
Rare, you are a brave man!
@spunkycumfun
Stone Age genes 🧬
@EnyojLife At least your genes have stood the test of time!
Great post!! Glad you're back!!
I am back!
I see in your choices in the strip steak you mentioned both KC and NY. When I moved from Iowa to KC, I noticed that they called it a KC Strip. Had not heard of that before and just thought it was city competition thing.
While I tend to order Rib Eye at a restaurant, I will have that at home but also a Strip Steak depending on what is on sale at the store.
I don't know about other countries but it seems like here the beef found in the stores is not aged as much as it used to be. Which is disappointing, but it is also drives up the cost so as I understand aged beef usually ends up in restaurants.
I also enjoy minute steaks. Sometimes as part of a steak and potatoes meal but also I have found they make good sandwiches.
Strip steak here in Britain isn't that common - it's rump, sirloin and fillet that are the main choices of steak on a menu here, maybe T-bone gets a look-in sometimes.
Love them all !! Just throw some steak at me. As someone who has been a cattle rancher and my cattle organization involved in production one of best values of cuts would be select. When Butchering best to ask to have least waste
Prefer if cook myself rare if in restaurant medium
Glad the polls are back ☺ 🐮
Most people's complaint about beef too tough. Way overcome y processors can use variety of methods; pounding, stretching, electric shock, aging. At home can marinate and purchase best meat for tenderness
Of current complaints price too high. Supply and Demand. In USA less than half producers than 24 years ago. Producers not making profit and being squeezed by corporate fools. Setting future for freeze dryed meat made in a lab
@bignicktx I get the impression you like steak!
@spunkycumfun yep
This was difficult for me because I so rarely have steak. My husband could not have red meat (for health reasons) so I never bought it and the habit has stayed with me. Filet de Mignon or in my area of the US, simply Filet, is too little meat for the price so my cheap-ass self won't pay for it. Sirloin is what I usually choose ... tender, not too large, and moderately priced. I like my steak cooked 'medium' but I usually order 'medium rare' because a lot of restaurants tend to overshoot the pink.
I don't like fat on my meat, while realising fat is crucial in cooking meat. Fillet steak doesn't have any fat (or gristle) when served up; it's just so succulent to eat.
Because restaurants, especially French and Italian restaurants here, tend to overshoot the pink, I often order very well done here when I just want well done. I don't want any blood on my plate, otherwise I might go vegetarian!
Amazing 🤩 to know other countries how do you love their 🥩 will be.. size too..no but i wish to celebrate 14th march someday and I love my steak between medium and well done ...i love fried grilled stewed.. barbecued
Steaks are loved all over the world.
Wagyu ribeye steak medium rare about 8 zo. topped with mushrooms,garlic and butter
Wagyu steaks are supposed to be very good, though I've never eaten one.
Thanks for stopping by.
Another great battle here I am not a huge fan of steaks
because we ate a LOT of it growing up as my parents
would always keep HALF A BEEF in the freezer.
I did pick Fillet Mignon as that would be my choice
if I were going to eat a steak. I noticed you had
Tri-Tip Steak here too that one we eat sometimes
as well. I have my hubby chop it up for me and the
I marinate it over night and it's delicious too.
Welcome back my friend, and I hope your Monday
is a great start to your week..
I approve of your filet mignon choice for your favourite steak.
I love a monster Tomahawk cooked med-rare more to the rare side... they are absolutely amazing!!!
I've never eaten a tomahawk steak. They look big!
Thanks for stopping by.
@spunkycumfun they absolutely are.. deffintly something to have
@Alone_0_0_7 Tomahawk steaks aren't too common here in the UK.
@spunkycumfun aaaawwwwww that sux...
@Alone_0_0_7 I'll have to have a tomahawk steak when I next visit America.
Filet mignon, medium rare, but I actually prefer chicken and fish over steak. Oh and pasta and Mex. And Chinese. And…..well you get the idea.
Medium rare is too rare for me, there may be blood on the plate!
@spunkycumfun I likey blood 😋😎
@betwnurthighs2 Are you a vampire?!
@spunkycumfun Nah… not a lot of blood actually.
@betwnurthighs2 That's a relief. I'll put my crucifix and garlic away now!
@spunkycumfun
@betwnurthighs2 LOL.
Filet Mignon
An excellent choice.
Thanks for stopping by.
