I've heard you play and you're not as good as you think you are. 😂
But — you're pretty fucking good.
Belated Happy Birthday bro. See you soon.💕
Thanks for the props and the wishes. Lol... 😂
Yep, see you in a couple of weeks. 👍
@Paulxx001 Sorry I missed your birthday Hun. Happy Belated Birthday to you..xoxo
@bustinout20202
No fish for me. April 2 makes me an Aries. 🤗
OK. I don't understand why Nickelback get such a bad rap.
I understand their tunes are simple, hard-driving rock songs with uncluttered lyrics; but damn — as a drummer — they are soo fricken satisfying to play and listen to. There's a crisp, clean backbone to every song and a complexity to their accents and syncopation that get my feet tapping all the time.
My band tried playing a few of their songs, with limited success. The vocals are unique and have been overdubbed at least two or three times on the CDs; difficult to duplicate live. Oh, and some of the guitar work? It was above OUR guitarist's pay-grade. Lol... 😂
Most of their songs contain poignant "love themes." Perhaps that's what attracts me to these guys. And their drummer? He's tight and bang-on! Maybe that's it — I can play his licks. 🤗
...itZ Saturday night. What's on YOUR playlist ?
My daughter took a friend to a Nickelback concert (as a birthday gift) but since she needed me to drive, she had to buy a ticket for me, too. I left them to the seats and enjoyed listening to the concert from the floor of the arena's concourse.
In mine: Leonard Cohen, Moustaki, and Enia
but I am not sad!
@AuraAviatik6
Great set, to be sure and one that I would lend an ear to. 💕
@superbjversion2
Wow. I'm somewhat jealous. I've never heard them "live."
Did you notice how their drummer (Daniel Adair, a Canadian) resembled my style? Lol... 😂
Yeah. I like that band. The concourse is a great place to watch a band. So close, you can smell their cologne.
@Paulxx001 I didn't watch just listened. I'm positive though that you play better.
@superbjversion2
I'm sure you are being kind and generous. Their drummer is deft and pure. Thanks for the compliment. lol 😂 ♥️
@Paulxx001 I'd rather listen to someone I know (even virtually) play the drums than a stranger ... no matter the expertise.
Your blog is one of the few I look forward to. (flattery). It has some substance and humor. I wonder if the site has rights to all written here. If so, why would they? So, can you really delete things here? That girl in the pic…..I hate her 🙄
Sorry about that girl. 😲
The site claims they do but making even minor edits would make them "mine." Thanks for the props. 💕
Tried to leave you a comment the other day Paul but lost power just before could, and right now Mum Nature is going crazy outside - a huge storm, so hoping power will behave now! Oh, and don't remind me - so much sorting needs to be done, my house and the out building into which so much has been stashed - you know furniture and such you just can't part from - but hey even forgotten half of what's in there!
I empathize with your annoyance and discomfort at losing power so often. As I work from home and I'm on my PC 100% of the time, I would go nuts. Then I'd invest in a "power supply" and a generator. Ugh... 😐
I'm going through room by room, closet by closet, and so many times I'll pause at memories that item brings to the surface. Other times, I'll go, "What the heck is THIS thing from?" Which is sometimes worse because then I ask myself, "Will I ever need it again?" Lol... 😂
Several people who've popped into this blurb thought I was talking about THEM, so they've un-followed and blocked me. Lol... 😲
No worries.
I reelee don't belong in this space anyway.
I'll send up a flare and wait for the mothership. 😂
I have purged in the past. I do not regret it
Hugs!!
I'll take your example and be more proactive. 🤗
Marie Kondo method: Keep whatever "Sparks Joy," for you, and purge the rest. 🙂
I try to strike a balance. I don’t go full minimalist, but I do check in every once in a while to see if I'm holding onto stuff that no longer serves me, whether that’s posts, people, or things.
BTW, our mutual friend mentioned he reached out to you recently. I’ve missed his contributions here. His posts, (much like yours), have always had a way of sparking interesting discussions and adding a unique perspective to the space.
Thats one of the main reasons I continue to check back here....to see if Paul has posted, lol. 😉
Seriously though, as long as this space continues to offer you value, I truly hope you keep sharing your thoughts and creativity.
🤗💛😘
What an excellent and simple way to "classify" things.
Yes, "he" did. I can barely comprehend all the challenges he's faced and is still facing.
You are too kind. 🤗💕
I find that I spend too much time on these pages, especially when I look at other things in my life that need serious attention.
I'm using an egg timer to ration visits here. 😎
Ask him for my "email" and we can comiserate in other spaces.
@Paulxx001
I already have it...I think, lol 😉
@4playlist_Sugswt
Kool... He invited me to look at his NEW site. Good for him. 👍
So you're the other "beta" tester? Lol... 😂
@Paulxx001
That's me, lol.
I'm "M" over THERE.
I think we need a "Q" 😂
@4playlist_Sugswt
I'm the "Paul." He said there's three of us: who's the third?
Some of his references and thoughts are fricken complex. I have to put on my "thinking cap" when I make a fricken comment. 😲
@Paulxx001
He's a clever boy, lol.
No clue on the 3rd. I only see our comments. 🤷🏻♀️
Getting rid of my clutter has been on my to do list for a year, still have not got around to it. Giving away some items that was clutter before , that i now need is not helping in getting the project started .
Oh, that's not good. I can imagine your frustration. I've got a dozen boxes ready for filling. But thought I'd answer your "comment" first. Sheesh...
Yep. I have a plan; I just need to execute it. 😲
Seems we both had Nickelback cranked Hun. I know I have de-cluttered some of my old posts and the site did also when I was off last year. I should go through my lists like you did as I need to clean up some bloggers who are not on this site anymore. You shall forever remain one blog I Love and follow my friend..xoxo
Nickelback is one band that has always been on my list of favorites. I just love their sound and their toe-tapping beats.
We'll follow each other till this place closes down or until we leave. 💕
So great i love it
I'm glad you do. 👍
Five news networks! You know what they say: 'If you don’t read the news, you’re uninformed; if you do, you’re misinformed.'
I don’t know about the ones you follow, but here in the EU, at least in France and Spain, it doesn’t matter what source you choose: they all say and think the same thing. Strange, right?... Ahem! So the best thing is to not follow any of them and look for information elsewhere.
As for throwing things and then regretting them, that rarely happens to me, because I find it really hard to let go of things... and people
One of these days I should 'clean up' my blog list too, it has 122 blogs and only a handful are really worth it… yours being one of them. It’s a unique, original blog: I like it.
I've spent my professional life sifting through and analyzing points of view, where they originate, and what the sources are. I have no fear of being deceived. I have multiple reliable sources. I'm a history buff and know what is true and what is bullshit.
I'm not deleting my posts. I've thought about it. But, I guess it's MY history... to some extent. 💕
I hope someone in the future goes, "Fuck. Paul was fucked up, but interesting." lol... 😂
@hippiechick1967
Yes. True.
This moment, is all we can control. 💕
Wellll…you do you. 😊
I had a big project to start deleting old posts, but don’t have much energy to evaluate the people who I follow and cull them down. Then again, I’m fairly judicious about adding them in the first place.
I'm not deleting old posts. My gosh, I have close to five hundred. And some of them, as pathetic and poorly written as they are, will be reminders of my time here.
I imagine my kin will have lots of fun reading them. Have you ever seen the flick "The Bridges Of Madison County" with Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood? It is a worthy view and somewhat reminiscent of what I might expect. Lol... 😂
But, getting back to the point, my blog-page feed is fricken neet.
@Paulxx001 I had something like 1900 posts and I’ve gotten it down into the 700’s. Being slightly OCD, most of them I did save off (for that book I’ll write someday 🤣 ). At some point I suppose I’ll move them off my hard drive on to a USB stick and then at some point after that I’ll forget what’s on the USB stick. Such is life.
@smartasswoman
USB. Greet idea.
My next of l'on will have a great time.
Seriously? They are snapshots of where we were.
Although, I'd prefer if my offspring would remeber me for my philanthropic work with endangered species, or working with the homeless.
Yep... 😶 💕
@hippiechick1967
I can still view and read them. But I don't know, for sure, if I can delete them. I've ever tried.
I've given up thinking about yesterday: I'm really focussed on today, and what I need to do.🤗💕
@hippiechick1967 I don’t know, maybe it’s because you had a hiatus for a while? My recollection is that when they brought over content to the new Community site, if a blog had been inactive for a certain amount of time it didn’t get migrated.
All of my content going back to 2006 got migrated.
@hippiechick1967 but you make a good point - I assume my content on the “old” blogs is still there and there’s no way to delete it.
I shed clutter on a regular basis. There are times, though, that I look for something that I know I have and then remember that it got tossed 6 months ago!
You shed regularly? Wow. Props to you.
I have a ton of stuff that belong to my daughters, and they don't want it.
I guess I'll get rid of it one day. 😶
