Lynn was in Montreal on business. She suggested we meet yesterday, and "cause some chaos." Now, who could resist that invitation? We converged at her hotel, then trekked it to "La Selva" — she was in the mood for Mexican, and I was always up for anything she was.
We were halfway through a wonderful bottle of Casa Madero, quietly chatting, when Lynn made a suggestion.
"Listen Paul. If blogging doesn't satisfy you anymore, do something about it."
"Like what. Quit?"
"Yeah. You could do that. But how about if you sold it?"
"Sold my Blog?" I looked at her quizzically. "It's not worth anything."
"What do you mean? You have over a thousand followers, you've built a fan-base with a theme and an identity, and I'm sure your monthly ad revenue is worthy of someone's attention."
"That's the thing: there is NO ad revenue."
"Paul, are you kidding me? Zero? No affliate marketing? What type of fricken blog site are you on?"
"Not a very profitable one... that's for sure," I laughed.
We were interrupted by the arrival of steaming plates of food. Lynn had ordered the wonderfully aromatic "Pozole," and I chose a filling bowl of "Chilaquiles." We tasted each other's dishes and agreed — THIS place knew how to cook Mexican food to perfection.
"So Paul, let me get this straight," Lynn spoke, between a mouthful. "You earn no revenue from your blog? You're constantly facing hurdles and glitches over there; why bother? I mean... get a real writing job," she laughed while raising her eyebrows.
I looked at Lynn and blinked. She had a point.
"Listen Paul. I know some people who are always looking for creative bloggers to manage their websites. Let me hook you up."
... the Fresas con Crema... was so rich...
I was considering what Lynn had said when the "Fresas con Crema" and those lusciously frosted "Sopaipillas" were placed in front of us. I was feeling close to stuffed when I looked up at Lynn and noticed her mischievous grin.
"Paul, let's order another bottle of "Casa Madero"... to help push all this food down."
The topics of blogs... and selling anything... were scooped away along with our empty plates.
The lights in the restaurant had been dimmed. Flickering candles cast intimate shadows from a handful of tables while a flamenco play list... serenaded us in the background. Lynn and I exhaled and made plans for our next pit stop. A leisurely walk back to her hotel seemed like an easy way to work off the rich food we'd enjoyed.
Lynn winked at me. She and I both knew better ways to burn calories. 😶
Do you enjoy trying foods from different nations, or do you prefer sticking with what you know?
Will our leader, Andrew, ever allow affiliate marketing for these blogs... as he once suggested?🤔
NOTE: I realized, no matter what, I would always have a hard time selling my blog unless I found another blogger out there named Paul.

She's made a choice, and debated it with me. More than once.
I'm constantly educating myself and exploring vegan options. And I've tried them out on her. Mixed results. 😶

I am uncertain about the future direction of this site; it appears to be in constant change.
Recently, an acquaintance and follower asked me, "Why don't you post somewhere else where you can get paid?" After a moment of thought, I replied, "I post here for my own enjoyment. It's convenient, and I'm not tied to a schedule or time-line."
True, about constant flux over here.
Also true about the time, effort and discipline required to create a successful blog "outside" the parameters of these pages. It would be a full-time job. Which, if you look around here some people have already committed to. 😶
Getting paid for blogging? That would be a complete shift in the site's approach. I don't know how it could be done without inserting ads or having post content rely on subliminal advertising, like a naked blogger posing with a specific brand of watch, taking a selfie with a prominently displayed smartphone brand, or wearing branded underwear... It would be odd, don't you think?
As for food, honestly, I've never had the slightest curiosity about trying other international cuisines... I’m not even interested in my own country's cuisine or that of my adopted country. What I do agree with you on, though, is that there's nothing like 'intense physical exercise'
to burn calories. 
Anyway, I do like fresas con crema, and I have no idea what a sopapilla is, but it sure looks tasty. 🙂
Your perceptions about monetizing blogs are on the right track. However, this approach is probably too complex for this site and would work best with stand-alone Blogs.

That restaurant Lynn and I went to will be on my list of go-to places when a craving for Mexican food re-surfaces. It's cute... and has a calm vibe. When I find a worthy place, I like to go back. Don't you?
