I loved the Alarm.

I saw them live once only at the Bayou in Georgetown. But what a great show.

Their music was in my life at the beginning of my awakening to my own music, not what every one else listened to in my redneck county.

When everyone was basically wearing dungarees and flannel shirts, I was exploring thrift stores (developing my life long love of them), shaving my hair on the side, wearing everything from a thrift store, ripped stocking, long coats (before they became identifiable to school shooters), my hair stood up with the use of tons of aqua net and a hair spray called the stiff stuff. i was a new wave/punk who stood out like a sore thumb on the other side of the county from where i live now. but i had a tribe. there were more than a few of us that loved all the music coming out of england (i actually wasnt a huge fan of the sex pistols, but i have had a life long fascination for Sid Vicious)

when i first heard the Alarm, of course, it was their hit 68 guns and their debut album Declaration. I had that on cassette tape and i wore it out. i followed them for many years....my music tastes deviated from my earlier years but i still loved them whenever i heard them.
