Late again posting for HNW. I had the pictures taken an chosen yesterday but before I posted I got a call from Diane wanting to get together so she could tell me about the results from talking to her Cardiologist over a late lunch and to go on for a much needed nature ramble.
This time I took a lot fewer pictures for HNW as more of them had fewer flaws. Still, had trouble choosing just one. Here are my picks for O & P.
I felt this picture has the advantage of better composition but felt it did not show enough orange. So I changed into a different pair of shorts.
This pic surely shows more orange by just holding the purple top keeps me half dressed. I also liked my stance an facial expression better.
As I said in my intro Diane called me about the time I was ready to write up this post and wanted to talk to me about the results of her Cardiology visit over a very late lunch and then get out into nature to bolster her spirits. Between her appointments and hot humid and stormy weather she had not gotten out to enjoy nature much and neither had I. She picked me up and we went to Culver's and talked about her results and her options. She sounded like her doctor was a good one and explained her options well so she is feeling much better about her future. After we ate we headed to a State Park on the west side of Lake Mendota that we have not visited for some time. Took a bit of a wandering walk to a lovely picnic area with a fantastic view across the lake where we sat and talked but mostly just took in the quiet and enjoyed the view. Left there near sunset and stopped to get some pictures of it setting over the slowly being restored prairie. Then drove on a drive to get a few better pictures of the beautuful way the sunset was coloring the clouds. We both took several pictures. I am posting a couple of the better ones I think you all will enjoy. We sure enjoyed just watching the sunset taking a few pictures of the view that just seems designed to settle our souls.
I find it amazing how difficult it can be to get a sunset picture that does it justice and also always surprised at how fast the colors and highlights change.
After a short while the sunset's glow had faded we continued on a short ramble in the country before heading home to my place.
Of course Diane came up as she was looking forward to me reading some more of the book I am now about half way though. Its title is: "Something In The Woods Loves You" by Jarod K. Anderson. I had picked it up about a month or so ago on a ramble with Diane had us stopping at a new book store. I did not read the blurbs but did check the chapter titles which were grouped into the four seasons and named bird, animal or plant and thought they would be about his encounter with that bit of Nature. Turned out they were in a way but more of how his encounters helped him get help for his deep depression and the lessons they taught him on his journey out of it. Not what I thought is was going to be but it would appear that these encounters and reflections on his journey are what both Diane and I seem to need right now to help counter the emotions arising from the news from the Trump palace in Washington. After my reading a chapter we shared stories of things we remembered from childhood. Things that we see are points or stories in our lives that seem to be part of the glue that connects us. She could not stay the night but left quite late, around 11:30. As usual I walked her to her car.
We had managed to get together this past Friday for a long car ramble and overnight together. I cannot say either of us got enough sleep though we were sort of early to bed much pleasurable time was spent giving her a long full body coconut oil massage followed by the oh so sensual pleasure of cuddling up like a pair of spoons and just savoring the feel of being skin to skin. I really needed to take a long nap after I got home on Saturday. Diane said she had needed one too. I still marvel that we had the great good fortune to meet.
Actually, we got together earlier that week too and that plus other things kept me from posting a late group of pictures for that week's HNW - Hats. I did have too many pictures taken but finally ready to post, late again, when I Diane called me in the mood for an long car ramble and an overnight. No surprise, I thought that was more important than posting my pictures for HNW -Hats. The pictures I took were showing hats I did not include in or ha acquired since the last HNW - Hats theme. I hate missing posting for HNW so I shall post the pictures for last week in the first, bottom, comment below.
I am again way behind on reading the blog posts I follow and more behind on posting comments to them. Sometimes I read the post and don not know what to say that does not sound trite or feel that the post deserves a longer well thought out answer that I then never quite figure out how to say. I apologize for that and the fact I shall try to read all of the posts I am behind on but in order to catch up I will not post a comment as doing so seems to mean I get further behind. Perhaps if I get caught up I will be able to stay that way.
Happy HNW to you all and may you have posting for the theme and fun checking the ones others have posted.

It's hard to stay caught up. I got behind when I was out of town for a couple of days earlier in the month. I finally got caught up and now I'm behind again after being on the bike tour for five days.
I'll just say this is not our job and no one should feel obligated to leave a comment on every single post - even of their friends!
I am glad that you have reading and good companionship to distract you from the fire hose of Washington news. Hugs!
I agree that it is hard to get caught up. Part of the problem is actually commenting takes time and also commenting leads to wanting to read the other peoples comments and maybe responding to them with a tag. I know I am not obligated to reply but I hate to feel that I am ignoring my friends.
I am sure most all of us feel the need for distraction from the "news" out of Washington and elsewhere. I think Diane has the right of it for so many of us. We hate to see the news but feel we need to keep up at least somewhat.
Sending you big naked hugs.
I love sunsets and agree that pictures never do it justice.
When we feel quiet, we feel quiet. Never worry about getting behind. Life is a huge effort and sometimes we have to let a few things slide
A massage and cuddle sound so amazing. You and Diane are so blessed to have connected.
Hugs!!
Sometimes I have too much to say or something I want to say but am not sure how to say it. Those whose blogs I follow I think of as friends and I dislike neglecting them and that is what not keeping up feels like to me. Still, we all need to honor the part of us that feels quiet.
I love giving Diane massages and she loves getting them. Massaging her feet seems to help her the most. She can always walk better after the massage. I have to thank you again for recommending the coconut oil. It works so well, is slipperier than olive oil, has not scent or flavor plus it seems to soak in better without leaving the skin feeling tacky.
Sending you big naked hugs and the wish I could give you a good head to toe coconut oil massage that leaves you limp and totally relaxed.
We both feel blessed for having been connected.
I like the orange sunset the best however, in regard to the HNW pics, I like the second one. It fits the theme better and I like the way the shorts are, um ... draped.
Funny! I never thought about the sunset fitting in with the Orange and Purple I used in the theme. I too like the second one better and felt that I got the "drape" of the shorts about right. I am wondering if you were surprised to see me actually half dressed and with actual clothes.
Sending you big naked hugs as I wonder where the sumer went. Still not too late to show you Natural Bridge State Park.
There's no problem whatsoever being late to the HNW party, the most important thing is that you arrived at the party. Fashionably late and all that!
Those sunset photos are quite stunning.
The sunset was awesome! The best part of it was being able to share it with
The sunset was even more awesome in person. The best thing about it though was sharing it with Diane.
Here are the pictures I had chosen for last weeks HNW and surprise! I am actually wearing more than a hat is a couple of them and just wearing a hat and a watch in a couple of others. Of course being me, in one of those I have a hat places for coverage and one where the coverage only makes it for one head.
In some ways I think this is the better or perhaps the most uncluttered picture.
See, I can post a HNW picture wearing some scrap of clothing. Just could not decide which of these two shows the better facial expression.
Here I managed to include all five of the hats I have not shown in a prior HNW - Hats theme post.
Well, I could not resist showing one head covered by a hat and the other mostly not covered.
Hope you like these and I am sorry they are so late.
Have a Happy HNW!
