It is running on to late afternoon and I had intended to have had this post finished by now. I have been procrastinating as I know I will not be able to do the day justice and also fear I may leave out something important and also that my story will ramble too much. Have finally decided that though I likely will ramble such is the only way for me to actually get it written. (It is possible that I may be a frustrated perfectionist in some things.)
I left off with Diane and I driving away from that mysterious ruin of a house. We had sort of decided to wander on over to look at Parfrey's Glen near Devil's Lake. Of course, we took a rather wandering rural route that we knew would involve crossing the Wisconsin river via the free ferry at Merrimac. The ride provided plenty of lovely scenery to comment on which is one of the joys of our rambles. We pulled into the boarding lot just as the Ferry was pulling away from the loading area. Rather than idling the engine to keep the A/C on we opened our windows to let the breeze in. Unfortunately, there was no breeze arriving even though we could see it playing with the branches of the trees, bushes, reeds an even how it made the water choppy. I commented that we were in the wind shadow of the slope behind us as well as the houses and trees upwind of us. Diane had never heard of that term so asked me what it was. I told her it is the space downwind where something, trees, buildings, a hill blocks the wind or causes it to blow above the downwind side of the hill etc., Now she had commented on just how blue the river looked when we caught glimpses of it on the drive. I told her that sometime one could actually see the wind-shadow. On water it can show itself as an area that is flatter or calmer without the wind causing ripples or chow. On land it reveals itself in areas where the grasses, flowers and such are not waving and rippling from the wind and of course how that effected the way the light and colors were different from where the wind played. She wondered how one would paint a wind shadow and we then whiled away the bit of time for the ferry to return painting a picture with words of how we would paint the scene in front of us showing the wind's shadow. The wait for the ferry's return was not long but we very much enjoyed "painting" that picture. Just another way that shows how we fit together. After crossing the river we continued on our way to Parfey's Glen enjoying and commenting on the beauty of Queen Anne's Lace, Chickory and various other mostly yellow flowers waving in the breeze beside the road in the fields nearby. We would liked to have stopped to take a few pictures but other cars were behind us and there was not place with the combo of the flower filled views and a safe place to pull over and stop. At Parfrey's Glen we discovered just how hot and humid the day was as soon as we open the door of our air-conditioned car. While we knew the Glen would be beautiful we also felt it would not be worth braving the sauna outside.
It was move on to late afternoon and we realized we were getting a bit hungry. So we decided to wander back in the general direction we had come but taking a different but just as scenic route to have supper at Rocksbury Tavern, a place we liked when in the general area. It was only about 20 miles away. Well, likely a bit more as our route in that direction was of a casually wandering nature. I think we arrived at around 5:00 or 5:00 pm before the crowd arrived. I brought the book I had been reading to Diane in with us. (It was one I bought about a week earlier on a short ramble to a new bookstore. With chapters only 10 to 15 pages long and a title of "Something In The Woods Loves You" I thought it looked like it would be a good one to read to Diane. It is not quite what I was expecting but we are liking it so far.) After ordering out usual order of appetizers, 6 baked potato skins, ie (half a medium baked potato with melted cheddar, bacon bits and herbs melted on with a side of sour cream to smear on them.) We also got our other usual. Something they called Bosk Sticks which are a sort of a hot bread stick filled with a partly melted Mozzarella cheese stick then brushed with a garlic butter and sprinkled with herbs and some Parmesan cheese. Marinara sauce is included for dipping. We had soda rather than a beer as I was driving and Diane does not like beer. I started to quietly read to Diane another chapter, they are short, about a dozen pages, from the book I brought in. Only got halfway through the chapter when the food arrived but I finished reading it after the meal.
By then we were both feeling tired so our ride back to Diane's are a bit more direct. We did manage to stop at a St Vinnie's on the way. I found a nice comfortable pair of linen pants that seemed like they would be perfect for lounging about at home or wearing out for something where shorts might not be best. Diane said they draped nicely over my backside too. She found a nice top. I imagine that you all have already concluded that when Diane and I go on a ramble what passes for plans and destinations are subject to abrupt changes.
It was getting to be mid to late evening when we finally arrived at Diane's. We both got mostly naked and it felt so very good to do so. The bed was calling us for a bit of a nap but first I gave Diane a good foot massage. I love doing that for her and have discovered that it is easiest to do so with her sitting down rather than in bed. When I finished her feet we snuggle up in bed where I intended to give her a good oiled massage but we fell asleep for a while. We felt energized after that nap and I did give her a nice long thorough full body massage using the kind coconut oil PonyGirl said she uses sometimes to make places very sensually slippery. PonyGirl I have to say it sure made that massage very sensual and Diane said it also made her skin feel wonderfully soft afterwards. I intend to leave a flask of it there so it will be available for whenever the mood for a massage overtakes us or she just needs to soften up some dry skin. I shall try to always be the one to apply the oil.
We both slept very well that night after a sorely needed day of pure nature filled joy. We also both slept quite late. Her cats finally cause us to get up by giving us that reproachful stare that can be felt even in your sleep. I did not manage to repaint Diane's toes that morning , in new colors even, as by the time we were awake enough to do it I had to leave.
I doubt this narrative does the wonder of that day justice but then, magical days are difficult to describe well. Part of that magic was that we both really needed that ramble as the last few were too short and had been sort of shoehorned in around demands in our schedules and the exhaustion from the colds we had.
I did manage to finally get Diane's toenails repainted this past Saturday night. I did them up in new colors just because we felt like it. Diane took a couple of pictures of her newly colored toes and here are two different views.
It was a good thing I finally got her toes painted as Sunday we had a family reunion sort of event, my family, to go to and this would be only the second time Diane was introduced to them all. Over 40 people when I add in the grand nieces and nephews. Diane said she felt more comfortable this time and she did seem to enjoy herself. I know she made a good impression on everyone. She makes me proud to introduce her to family and friends. I am so lucky to have met her and have her in my life.
For some reason the pictures I tried to post of Diane's newly painted toes would not load. I tried several times.) Not sure if the problem is I have met the limit on the total number of pictures allowed in my posts or if it is something else. So I am posting them in a comment near the bottom of the stack. I also am posting two comments with pictures below that one. The one right below it is a late set of pictures for HNW - Beach and in the bottommost totally naked mirror shots where I happened to not suppress the flash.
Hope you all enjoyed the saga of the rest of my car ramble day with Diane and enjoyed the pictures in the three comments.
Y'all have a great week and watch out for heat stroke.

The colors you chose for her toes are lovely.
You guys sure went on a nice and scenic ramble. What’s a ramble without good food and stop at St. Vinny’s? 😁
Thank you. Diane finds the green on her big toe feels a bit too bright. Keeps catching her eye, but I love it.
You are so right about food, St Vinnies and rambles. We often start our rambles with a good brunch and a St Vinnies stop is often included. For our longer rambles a stop for some good food or at least ice cream often happens.
Sending you big naked hugs and may you have a great week.
What a wonderful ramble! She is very lucky to have YOU!
It was a wonderful ramble and she introduced me to doing them. Part of our success is that we both feel so lucky to have each other and that the best part of the relationship is from the other person.
Sending you big naked hugs along with wishes for a great day.
I like Diane's painted toenails. You did a great job.
Thank you! I love them too and the colors are a fun change. Diane thinks the green is a tad too bright but I think it is perfect. I love doing her toenails and that we are both wearing barely a scrap of cloth, if that much, when I do them does not hurt.
Wahoo!! I am glad Diane enjoyed her softer skin. I use the coconut oil to make body butter and other skin care concoctions. It is so good for skin. I use it on parts of my skin after each shower. I also use it on boo boos to prevent scars and keep the skin healthy. If Diane is curious, it can be used on your upright with her hand or mouth.
Your ramble sounds so sweet. I am so happy the two of you found one another. Y'all are adorable.
Diane's toes are beautiful. However I was distracted by your bulge. I hope she shifted her foot to give you a bit if a massage
Hugs!!
I do believe she enjoyed my massaging her all over even more than usual as the oil let my hands glide over her skin and tight muscles in a smoother and more sensuous manner than usual. I discovered that the oil does not interfere with the flavor of any of her lovely parts and being food grade it can be savored with any other natural lubricants the sensual side of her may produce. I do admit I was somewhat surprised at just how slippery it made her nipples and thighs get.
Giving her that all over oil massage was the icing on the cake of a very sensual day. We love our rambles and this one was near the top of our best ones.
I do hope you get to enjoy an all over oil massage from time to time. I rather wish I could give one to you. It would be a delight to see just how relaxed you would get after a head to toe massage. Your certainly deserve to have them on a regular basis.
Glad you liked the way Diane's toes looked in those bright colors. I am also a bit surprised that you found my bulge distracting. As I said I wish the only thing covering the dangle would have been her foot and that the coverage would have been minimal. If I had not feared that the coconut oil would have smeared her fresh coat of polish I would have asked her to oil up my shaft using the sole of her foot. I think it would have made for an nice picture too.
Sending you big oiled up naked hugs as we see how long it takes for the oil to get worked in. Yeah, I know, I am being such a guy. Women with beautiful minds and souls strongly bring out that part of my of nature.
Here are the pictures of Diane's new toenail paint job that I tried to include in my post. She likes to see me wearing that scrap of a G-string when I am painting them and for any pictures. I admit I would have loved to have been not wearing the G-string and had a picture of one of her feet not quite covering all of my bits. What can I say, I am a bit of an exhibitionist.
Diane liked this picture of her feet best. Partly because she felt it lessened the impact of the green on her big toe. (She is thinking that next time she may want both her big toes done with the blue.) I disagree but they are her toes. We will see if she gets more used to how bright the green is.
I am including this picture because it shows off the colors better. I also admit that it shows that she was on her feet all day before I had the chance to give her a good foot massage. I did give her one later after the polish had the time to be completely dry and set. I do love to give her foot massages. Partly just from the look of bliss she gets when relieve a tender spot and partly just because doing so helps her walk better.
So there they are folks. What do you think of our choice of colors?
For some reason they finally loaded about an hour and a half late.
Though I have been to Devil's Lake three times this summer I have failed to get a picture of me there. I admit several women have taken my picture there this summer. Just not one with my camera or phone. Anyway, I finally took my camera and tripod over to Warner Park beach and took a few pictures but too lake to be on time for the HNW - Beach theme. Hope you all do not mind me being late.
A problem I had was most of the pictures I took with the lake behind me also put the sun behind me. This picture was one of the first ones I took with the beach and lake behind me. I was just a shadow till I did some major manipulating. It is not a great picture but I found the final effect interesting.
This next picture was taken after the first one. I found that putting part of the building between me and the sun helped a lot but I still had to do some adjusting. Was kind of disappointed with the smile and background.
Tried a different angle and got a nice background and the lighting a bit better but I look too serious.
I think I have my best smile in this picture and was happy I did not have to do any lighting adjustments to avoid a shadow over my eyes. In fact I think this picture has my best smile. One just can't really tell I am at the same, or any, beach.
I rather liked the background better and felt it shows my face best but I think my smile is better in the picture above it.
So there are my too late and too many pictures for 7/23 HNW.
Took this picture about two or three weeks or so ago when I was trying to get a good picture of me in my hat with the new hat-band but as is rather usual wearing virtually nothing else but a try at a smile.
When I took this picture I had the blinds closed and rather liked the light level my eye was seeing. Forgot to suppress the flash. Maybe not a great picture of me but I do like the effect after did some major adjustments to the highlights and to the shadows. The raw picture was mostly a bright light with everything behind it too dark to see.
I opened the blinds for the next picture thinking that would give enough light to cut off the flash. Nope! Still, I did not have to do much adjusting to cut down on the blinding flash and I think I got a good shot of me showing an okay smile.
I remembered to turn off the flash for this shot. Did not have to do more than just a bit of cropping. I am including it because I like the look in my eyes and the way my head is tilted.
I LOVE the first pic! You are glowing!!!
@PonyGirl1965 Thank you! Sometimes a botched picture can be turned into something fun. The same goes for many other "failures".
Sending you great big naked glowing hugs because I am sure your soul glows for those of us who can feel your presence. I can feel the glow just from reading your blog and the comments you post.
@justskin1 I love to picture us all having discussions in a big cuddle of half naked humans
Hugs!!
@PonyGirl1965 Now that is a lovely thought! Do you think some of us could be totally naked in that discussion cuddle?
@justskin1 Absolutely!!
