Hello you all! Finally feeling up to doing a post. Was having writer's block and the last two weeks a nasty chest cold that was exhausting. (Some of the days I felt okay till someone unscrewed my big toes and all my energy ran out.) I think I am finally mostly over it. A good thing too as I have family visiting my stayed in the area sisters and we are getting together tomorrow. (Sunday) Of course, Diane will be going with me. In fact I hope I can write fast as I will be having to leave for overnight with Diane about and hour from now.
Diane & I have gotten together several times since my last post but with her cold, then my cold and other various appointments our meets were not often enough and way too short. Wednesday was a delightful exception, Finally!
My middle daughter had invited us over for coffee late in the morning. We brought pasties and had a few hours of conversation. When D and I left we decided we needed to go for a long car ramble as it had been too long since we had last taken a seriously long one down scenic and rustic roads. It felt fantastic and was just one of the things we really needed to do together. At one point while driving down an unfamiliar back road we came upon this:
We both wanted to stop and take pictures of the place but as someone was behind us we could not stop just then. Continued on up the road looking for a place to turn around and found it. The place had this vista and we were able to stop so both of us could take pictures. (Diane will often take pictures of great or interesting views as I drive.)
I am sorry to say that the picture does not do the view justice. The pasture or prairie was full of wild flowers. (As were many places along the road. Mostly where we could not stop to take pictures. Usually due to cars behind us or the road making stopping dangerous.
A bit of a different view of the same place. I moved the car a bit so Diane could get different shots.
We turned around and went back to the ruined farm house that with the so oddly manicured yard. We were in luck as there was a driveway/lane we could turn into to take pictures and this old chopper was off to the side between us and the house.
In front of us a bit down the lane was this vine, flower and brush overgrown old truck. It looked like it may have been an old military truck.
I took several pictures of the house and felt that the blue of the sky showing thru the trees on the hill behind it made the ruin of house combined with the perfectly manicured yard area seem even more strange. I did not see a dwelling in any of the mown area and the house could not have been lived in. A rather sad mystery.
Well, it is 7:10 and I have to clean up, pack and get to Diane's by 8:00. I promise I will finish telling you all about our day come Monday as it just got better and better.
I am including these pictures of me getting ready to head up to Devil's Lake, third trip, a couple of weeks ago just so you could see my smiling face and the tan I was getting.
Hope you all have a great weekend. I will have a great evening as I am bringing along some coconut oil, food grade, to make the massage I plan on giving Diane after I have redone the nail polish on her toes. Thank you, PonyGirl for the tip about using it to make places so sensuously slick.
Now for a quick bath and I hope I am not too late.

I am delighted that you are using the coconut oil! I really believe that it's best to avoid putting chemicals in or on our bodies. Too many lubes are unknown chemicals. Coconut oil can be bought in an organic state. It's slick and fun.

Thank you again for putting me onto real coconut oil. It is indeed slick and fun. It certainly has been a help making sausage do some serious spurting. As I will mention in my continued post about our ramble and after fun I used it to give Diane a thorough all over her body massage. I like that it does not have fragrance added as a woman's fragrance should not be sullied by something artificial. Also it being food grade, I do not have to worry about how much has made its way onto my tongue.

What a mystery. It would make a great movie set!
It is a sad but in a way delightful mystery. Did not think of it as a movie set but you are right; it would make a great one. I wonder what the interior is like but think it would make for a sad but creepy movie set also.

It certainly is an interesting house. I am looking forward to posting more about it and hope I can do it justice.
I like the shorts too but have to wonder if you best like seeing them in my hand or wearing them. I must admit that they are so short that I must be aware of wardrobe malfunctions.

I'm surprised the abandoned house hasn't been done up and occupied.
I would be surprised if someone did fix it up as it is an obvious money pit. The foundation was looking none too stable. That may be part of the difference between the European outlook on the old and the American.
@justskin1 As well as the costs of renovation, I guess a lot depends on its location. Here local authorities have powers to force the owner to renovate or sell up.
The abandoned house is mysterious. I wonder if there's some town ordinance to keep the lawn trimmed or there'd be fines 🤔
It surely is mysterious from the contrast of ruins and well tended yard. There were two driveway/lanes well mowed along the edged that went some ways back into the trees. I suspect there may be a modern house hiding where we could not see it. I doubt there is an ordinance that would require such careful lawn maintenance.

Glad you liked the pictures of the house and of me and my smile. I admit I do like to have at lease one and often more NSFW pics while wearing a smile and little else. I expect I shall continue to post such as long as some of my followers, like you, let me know they like them. I certainly have several possibles I have taken in the past couple of months.
That house with its well manicured yard catches the eye and mind much more thoroughly than if the yard around it had been a rank jungle. The contrast does set the mind to speculating as no livable abode was seen nearby. It was not for sale or I should say no sign was posted.
Sorry about not telling more of my time with Diane. Looking forward to finishing the tale but it will be a long one to tell it properly.

What a shame that beautiful old house has been left to rot
It certainly is a shame that such a large monument to prosperity has slid into such dire straits. I suspect that the maintenance for it got too high for the likely retired farmer and wife to keep it up and when they were gone it already looked to be a huge money pit.
