Diane and I have had several lovely rambles since my last HNW post. The weather was so lovely yesterday (Sunny, calm high of 76F or 24C ) we just had to head out again. I packed a picnic and we decided to go to Donald County Park: a place we had seen on a very long ramble 3 weeks ago. We only stopped for a look and a couple of pictures as we had a very long and varied ramble that day, over a 100 mile round trip, and it was getting late. Tried to find it the next week on a ramble but were a bit off on our directions. Diane had found it on a map so this time we got there. Here are a few pictures of the place.
I took this picture the first time we stopped. This rock formation was across the road from the parking lot and one of the reasons we wanted to go back. I do love seeing the bones of the earth displayed like this. It is one of the reasons I love rambles west of Madison as that area is in what is called the Driftless Area. That is the area of Wisconsin where the Glaciers never arrived. Madison is just east of the Driftless Area and it's lakes were dug out by the Glacier.
Diane and I packed our picnic up a short hill to a picnic table with a lovely view and enjoyed our usual picnic of summer sausage, cheese, crackers, grapes and soda with a square of Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate with a raspberry filling for dessert. After eating we put a sheet on the ground and snuggled in the warm sun for a while. Then I read some poetry to Diane from one of her favorite poets. I do love reading to her. Diane took this picture while sitting on the ground.
This is a shot showing a bit of the grassy top of the hill with some of the trees that edged the hill. There is something magical about the look of the trees in spring when they are just leafing out.
After eating we wandered down the hill to the Shelter. I took this picture from where we picnicked. I had gone up the hill to get her phone so she could take pictures.
This is looking out to the west from the shelter. The path leads around the hill we picnicked on to there parking lot and one can see a bit of the view that shows in my second picture.
This shot is of the view as one turns to the left from the left edge of the last shot. Unfortunately, it does not do justice to the hills in the back round.
Turning further this catches the bit of the trail the last picture shows wandering off to the left toward the hills and trees and I think to a bit of a stream that is not visible.
This picture shows how I would have loved to have been dressed for this ramble. I had taken it to possible use for the HNW theme of Do Your Own Thing as going commando in running shorts is certainly on of my things.
Today is bright, sunny and even warmer than yesterday was so I will be heading up to Devil's lake as soon as I finish this post and get a lunch packed. Of course that lunch will include some red wine and the golden goblet to drink from. For the drive up I will be wearing not much more than what I have on in that last picture. As usual I will be changing into one of my skimpy suits when I get to the lake. If I am lucky I may even get someone to take a picture or two of me in that suit. I have deleted this picture. JS

Sounds like you found a lovely place for a picnic when you were out and about on your rambles.
It was a lovely place. We had discovered it 2 weeks before and could not find it again the next week. Rambles with picnics are a lot of fun.

What can I say? I have a romantic cast of mind. I have never figured out why so many guys have not learned how much fun it is. Not to mention how much most women love that sort of thing. Been brainwashed into thinking such actions are not "Manly" I suppose. Their loss and of course a loss to the women in their lives too.
I did have fun at the Devil's Lake but did not get any pictures while there. Perhaps I can find a picture or two of me wearing more than just accessories like a hat or such.

I agree that romantic picnics are a lot of fun. That picnic backpack my second ex gave me have sure has seen a lot of use.
It's a shame you couldn't do a half-naked ramble.
I agree. I also think 3/4s or 7/8s naked would be even better.

In my last HNW post I mentioned that I had baked cookies the day before and promised I would post pictures of them and me baking them in my usual baking attire. As I failed to do that post I decided to post them in this comment. Hope you enjoy them.
COOKIES! After taking the last cookies out of the oven I ended up with 12 and a half dozen plus two. Each row is a dozen cookies.

I like not ending up without having a awkward number of cookies. You may have noticed in the first picture that I ended up with twelve dozen and 8. This is me taking the first step to adjusting that total to a more easily described total of 12 and a half dozen.
Hope you all enjoyed my posting these pictures. Seems most of the pictures I have been taking are of this nature as I so enjoy being naked.
