Happy Victoria Day!
I'd like to visit Canada again someday.
@resant78 You should. It's a great place to visit 😉
I hope you all enjoy a very Happy Victoria's Day. The
queen was a very beloved lady and queen.
Have lots of fun and stay safe. I hope you Monday
is a great start to your new eventful week..
She certainly was. Queen Victoria reigned for 63 years, between 1837 and 1902 which was expected to be unmatched. However, Queen Elizabeth II, who ruled from 1952 until her death on Sept. 8, 2022, surpassed the reign of her great-great-grandmother.
Hope you had a good Victoria Day 🤗
@JN63JPN The actual holiday falls on Monday. However, people start celebrating Friday night and go all weekend 😊. Fireworks 💥 have started tonight but the biggest displays will be on Monday night.
It's a bit odd we don't have a Victoria Day here. I'm all for another public holiday!
@spunkycumfun Hmmm...that does seem rather incongruous
@sexyldy1000 There's talk of having an Elizabeth Day.
@spunkycumfun She certainly deserves it. I love the pomp & circumstance of your ceremonies & traditions regardless of the price tags.
Thanks for sharing some history of your country. Celebrate and enjoy!!!
@Tech2819 You are welcome. It's fun to share an assortment of information.
@sexyldy1000 totally agree😁😁
Her first name was actually Alexandrina. 👑
Did you know she ascended to the throne at 18, had 9 children and 42 grandchildren, was the first to wear white on her wedding day, and moved the royals to Buckingham Palace?
Neither did I. 😶
@Paulxx001 Actually I did know those facts. Her tenure as Queen for 63 years, between 1837 and 1902 was expected to be unmatched. However, Queen Elizabeth II, who ruled from 1952 until her death on Sept. 8, 2022, surpassed the reign of her great-great-grandmother.
Living most of my life in Metro Detroit, I've always known of Canada Day. Thanks for sharing this holiday with us. Enjoy your weekend
@superbjversion2 It is a national holiday here, so the schools, libraries & banks will be closed, there’s no postal delivery and most businesses including grocery stories will not be opened.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
