Thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights into some very important women in this country's history. So many triumphs for women to date but so much more to be done to support and celebrate the greatness within.
@SurferDave64 We are blessed to have a rich history of incredible women across all walks of life. Cheers to the ongoing success and acknowledgement of our women.
The state of the world, planet, environment is not the greatest in 2024. That said I firmly believe, we would be in far worse shape if it were not for the many important contributions and guidance of woman kind. Many thanks to them! And BTW if you have not already learned this it is never to late to learn. Always listen to you mother, they are always right.
@PeterPetes1 When you stop learning, you stop living. I wish I still had my mother to talk to. It’s taken a long time to adjust to no longer having our daily chats.
@sexyldy1000 Yes, unfortunately loosing people is part of the journey, but memories are always cherished.
Happy International Womans day! There are many women I am grateful to have in my life.
@resant78 Seems that many of us do and it's great to hear men acknowledge that they do.
The one woman in my life that had the biggest positive impact in my life is my mother. To me she was as successful as any other out there that has grandly impact my world and many others as well.
@jc_powerman There is no other relationship like the one we have with our mother. Thanks for sharing your perspective.
So many incredible women! Thank you for sharing!!!
Hugs!!
@PonyGirl1965 This post could have been much longer. We have a rich history of incredible women across all walks of life.
Cheers 🥂 to all of us!
You missed:
Dr. Ursula Franklin (1921-2016)
Professor of Metallurgical & Material Science at the University of Toronto.
Engineer, Social Activist, Feminist.
Her research into accumulation of Strontium-90 in Canadian children's teeth aided in the push for the Partial Test Ban Treaty of 1963.
@pussylovergta16 I had to make it a short list. As I said in my comment to someone else, I could easily have made this post much longer.
As a woman that works in a predominantly male industry, I feel this deeply. I was that naive girl that came out of school in the mid-90s thinking that all the bra burning that happened in my early childhood meant that the glass ceilings had already been broken/destroyed. It was a tough lesson to see how far we had already come but how much further we had to go. And in my almost 30 year career, it boggles my mind how much further we still have to go. I'm grateful for all that came before me, hope that I have done my part to continue to advance women in my profession and continue to encourage those that come after me to fight for their seat at the table. The everyday technology that we can attribute to female leaders in STEM never ceases to amaze me.
@CL_Love Thank you for sharing your experience & for continuing to be a role model for other successful women.
A wonderful tribute to some great Canadian women.
Happy International Women's Day. 🌹💕
@Paulxx001 Thank you. It would have been easy to make this much longer!
They all look like women I'd like to get to know!
@smartasswoman Me too! There are many other incredible women that should continue to be honoured and celebrated.
Here's to strong women
May we know them.
May we be them.
May we raise them.
You would think in this day and age, the struggle for gender equality would be over. Here in the US it seems to be going backwards. I honor the women who have gone before me and commend the women that continue to battle inequality!
@superbjversion2 It's an ongoing battle. I am fortunate to live in a country that is more progressive and enlightened.
This continues to be an affirmation for all women:
Happy International Womens Day my friend. There

I just want to say your another inspiring lady
