I walked through a dusting of snow to the edge of the shore, early this morning...

A dense fog had rolled in, shrouding the lake in a soft blanket of gray stillness. I peered towards the nearby tiny island: it stood there, the sole survivor of a planet that had now vanished. Tall pines and willows remained shadow-guardians of the silence. Two ducks suddenly appeared from the mist and flew up to within feet from where I stood, their wings flapping in unison. Were they seeking a companion or merely a hushed witnesses to a beautiful view, only nature could have painted? I smiled at her skill, amazed by her complexity... in awe of her simplicity.

And then I had to trudge back home and slalom my way along icy roads with all the other nuts — who hadn't yet put on their winter tires. Sheesh... 😂

We got 10" of snow on Monday! Absolutely crazy. It's been pretty cold here, but today will get in the 50's, melting everything.

Getting sweaty under the quilts with a lover sounds heavenly to me! Lol

My heat got turned on in September haha! I don't believe in suffering.

We finally had a hard freeze a few days ago so now it's time to work on digging up the dead annuals and cleaning up wilted perennial foliage.

I agree on the cold sneaking up on us.....When the freeze alert went out it was predicted to be upper 20s as a low......18 was certainly a nippley surprise!

It's been crazy for sure, but I'm hoping the cold blast knocks of the last of the pollen at least.

I love the cold weather, and I can't wait for it to get colder here. I hope you all stay warm and you enjoy your Veterans Day.

Yes it was cold last night, we had a good frost and the leaves just dropped means mullching time. and yes as hilda I stand in front of the fireplace also but I like her better with no clothes on. xoxo

High yesterday was 28F with wind, suppose to get to 36F today then high 50's Wednesday. Lucky no snow here, went around us. Have a blessed day....Hugs
