I'm a medium fish in a medium pond. I have access to a lot of the benefits of a big city ... museums, restaurants, theaters, shopping ... but the rural world is just behind Walmart.
I think that you likely have one the the better sort of ponds.
Sending you big hugs!
That sounds perfect! You have perks and peace near you.
Hugs!!
Watching fish - now, that sounds soothing. You already know I live in a rural area outside of a small town. I work at a large high school (over 3,000 students), so I'm in the big pond all day, then come home to the little pond. I love the differences.
Interesting and stimulating days followed by peaceful nights. That sounds perfect!!
Hugs!!!
A underwater camera sounds like a cool thing! Please share if you do get one
Thank You for your whimsical thoughts. I have been in big ponds too and nearly did not make it out, and yes I live in a rural area too. You tend to share something that matters at the right time.
Thank you for the kind words. I am so happy we are clicking
Hugs!!
it's really something how long it takes to set up that stuff in the car, isn't it? The younger generation is used to it. I had a younger guy partnering with me on the bike tour SAG duties and he got his music playlist connected to the car in no time flat.
Practice makes perfect. And I'm a newbie, LOL.
Hugs!!
I work in a big city, and where I live is technically a city but it's kept its small town vibe.
I’m a happy fish in a very big pond — Toronto’s got its own rhythm, but I’ve found my peaceful corner in it. Loved hearing about your fish and your new truck setup. There’s something so grounding about watching nature do its thing while we figure out our gadgets.
Sounds like a good idea to check out and get familiar with all the new doodads and such in you new truck. May it truly be a good fit for you and last you for many years. BTW What color is it?
Sounds like you like you had a lovely quiet time sitting by the pond and watching the life going on in it. I love being by water but living so close that Mother Nature can mess up my life by making it flood me or wash me away.
I grew up in a small town of about 700-750 people. That has both plusses and minuses. I felt I never fit in and was glad to move away. Live in a moderately large city now, the Capital of Wisconsin but I admit no longer chase the more hectic pace of city life. I feel I am more of a smallish fish in that loves to mostly stay in a small bay of a much larger pond.
Sending you big naked hugs just to let you know that you are comfortable to be around.
The truck is pearl white with lots of chrome. It's sparkly
And the white won't show the gravel dust as much as my fav blue.
I spent half my life in the city. Now, I could live on the edge of the city. I just want to avoid the snarled traffic and angry people. I like waving at folks as we drive
Hugs!!
@PonyGirl1965 I remember how much gravel dust shows on even a white car. I expect you will be able to go one or two days without having to wash it. On anything darker it can be just awful. I think I still have some Iowa gravel road dust in some parts of my car from Diane and my trip to Amana. Down here in southern Wisconsin most of the township roads are now paved. I remember when almost all of them were gravel.
Pearl white is a lovely color. HUGS!
Small pond here and want to keep if that way! Nothing to see here! Lol
I have older trucks, they are simplistic and not much gadgetry or electronics. I like it that way. Plus license and insurance are cheaper. They have also been very dependable.
If I could, I would have one of the 80's square body trucks. New enough to have AC and old enough to not have endless gadgets.
My tag will be affordable as a farm truck
I am so glad you got to sit in your new truck and enjoy getting familiar with all the new electronics in it. I sometimes use my phone hook up in our truck but I try not to because that can also be a distraction at times.
We live in a pretty good sized city, my hubby would love to live off the grid, not me I hated living in the country growing up as no friends or neighbors were close by and it sucked. School was my only get a way.
I think that would be awesome to have a camera in your pond so that you could watch what under water life is like for them.
I hope your Thursday is a very enjoyable one too hun.
Hugs

I grew up in city suburbs, so when we bought the farm, I made sure my kids had their friends over often. Many pretty much lived with us all summer. It was hectic and worth it.
Hugs!!
Your comment is spot on! "Hands free" is a bit misleading in that it is what is says, but the real issue is having your mind engaged in conversation and NOT on driving.
Congrats on the new vehicle and all the new toys to figure out. I'm STILL working on teaching Mrs C the ones in her 2024 SUV. 😀
Mrs C will have to step her game up.
I agree that the mind being engaged is the hazard. I used it today on the small state highway and it was fine. I still cannot see myself being comfy using it in the city. My mind must focus on the traffic. I want to live.
Hugs!!
Hello Pony Luv, I'm glad to hear you have the new to you truck. When I first got mine I thought about upgrading the stereo to allow Bluetooth connection to my phone but opted not to. I have since disconnected the speakers from the radio and listen to the road noise as I head into the large pond that's Sin City. I do yap as you say but not on the phone at the other drivers instead. Asking why are you being a moron? Why are you riding their ass so close? Do you really think this rig can stop on a dime? (When I'm getting my hours for the month driving the offices semis and trailers). Fun times...
Have a wonderful day luv.
I talk trash to the other drivers too, LOL. Gosh help them if I am pulling a trailer. LOL
Hugs!!!
I grew up in a small pond but I prefer living in a big pond. There's more to do and I can remain more anonymous.
Anonymous is good. My weakness if making friends. Then I stop being anonymous. Sighsss ....
Hugs!!
Sounds like a relaxing day. Open country for me. I own property with a big creek...Hugs
Can you go skinny dipping in the creek?
Hugs!!!
@PonyGirl1965 Any time, very private
