How are you?
The days have been hot. The nights have been less hot. Tonight is freakishly pleasant.
I went out after dark to let the horses out of their pasture. They get to graze in the house yard, around the fruit trees and all the buildings. I may have to do a little poop scooping off the sidewalk, but it is worth it for them to have thick green grass. They have managed to overgraze their pasture. The house yard though seems unfazed by the extra attention. Cowboy got on board when he figured out that they keep it grazed down just enough that he doesn't have to mow it. I told him for decades I prefer to let the horses mow as much as possible. Saved me hours of work. He is finally figuring out I was serious.
As the chain rattled on the gate, I hear the horses running my way. It is dark!! They have a crescent moon and that's it. 4 hoof drive is pretty stable and they do love getting to graze the thick stuff. Thankfully they stop at the gate and wait patiently for me to swing it open. Tomorrow as the heat kicks up, we will lock them back in the pasture. This allows the guardian livestock dog to have his food in his fav spot. Otherwise the horses eat the dog food. Yes, they are weird.
So .... horses will eat dog food. Dogs will eat cat food. Cats will eat anything except meds.
Do you eat weird stuff?
I will admit to liking ketchup on mashed potatoes. If you have ever had my mothers cooking, you would understand, LOL.

Lots of stuff the Japanese eat seem weird to the Western world 😂
I typically don't eat weird stuff....but the ketchup on mashed potatoes.....? Idk....that screams mineral deficiency to me! Lol
I go through food cravings at times...I just figure I must be lacking a certain mineral depending on the food I crave.
I like salsa on almost everything
That's a fun choice. I keep a pitcher of fresh salsa in the fridge year round.
I would love to have a horse or goat to mow my lawn! Not practical in the city, I guess.
Can you rent goats? They hire out for so many hours and can clear a space fast and efficient.
Horses make great mowers don't they so glad you finally convinced Cowboy of that as the chores become less for you both.
I can't say I have ever eaten weird stuff as hubby and I are both kind of picky in the things we like to eat.

I'm considered a weird eater for all the stuff I take off my food ... like no dressing on my salad, no condiments on my burger. I do like cheese on my hot dog, though.
Ketchup on mashed? Nope. Never tried it. I DO put ketchup on my hot dogs, even though Chicagoans insist it doesn't belong there. Shut it. I live an hour south and I will do my own thing. hahahaha
I put ketchup or BBQ sauce on hot dogs
@PonyGirl1965 I like ketchup on my burgers and hot dogs but no mustard. Never even thought of putting BBQ sauce on a hotdog.
@justskin1 I love a spicy bbq sauce. It goes well with onions and the other various add ons.
Ketchup fixes so much. So does BBQ sauce!

It has been in upper 90's with terrible humidity terrible here. Agree with animals eating everything. I enjoy most all types of foods. I do understand about mother's cooking, mine is 93 and has always been a terrible cook. But my grandmother and aunt were terrific cooks.
Interesting ketchup on mash potatoes why not people use it for fries. with immigrant parents we had pig brains kidneys and lungs it was normal to us..
