When we went to Hokkaido, my friend saw bales wrapped in black and white plastic. Made the field look like an Othello board.
This is the best weather! Cool mornings and late evenings and warm sunny days. I absolutely could live like this year round!
I love it when our farmer plants winter wheat. It's gorgeous!
The temps have dropped here this week, 40's at night, only 50's, maybe touching 60 during the day. I work inside, so it doesn't matter. But look out! Last day of school is next Friday!!
Your weather sounds amazing—meanwhile, I’m caught in a mix of cold, wind, and rain, so I’m glad I haven’t switched on the AC yet! Still, reading about the bounty of fresh produce and thriving farmland brings a welcome dose of spring energy. Corn on the cob and asparagus sound like the perfect way to celebrate the season!
Wishing you a bountiful day as well! 😊
Sounds like you all are finally getting some great weather there as you all have been through some chaotic storms for sure. So glad that the farm animals will eat well.
It does look nice in the produce section of the store with all the vibrant fruits and vegetable available I hope you enjoy yours.
I hope your Thursday continues to treat you well..
Happy for your good weather! It's been weird here - first way too hot for May, then the past few days it's been cold and rainy, only in the 40's. Glad that I waited before putting my plants in - hopefully they're not too unhappy from being waterlogged and cold.
Winter wheat for cattle to eat? I thought cattle ate grass or silage from corn, whatever and wheat was for bread, cereal, whatever.
Cattle will eat pretty much anything, including balloons and plastic bags.
Many farmers like to bale some of their winter wheat with the heads intact. It is high protein roughage. It keeps the momma cows fat and happy as well as growing the young stock big and stout.
Temps have been gorgeous here too, but despite tornadoes somewhat nearby, NO rain in my backyard.
Hello Pony Luv, we are just a hot kiss away from triple digits, seems like spring is fighting of summer here in Sin City. However, Summer is coming I just wonder how hot she's going to be this year.
I don't want to think about how hot the summer will be. Ugh.
Spring is also my favorite season. Been raining often so have not started cutting hay. Going to work cattle today, vaccinate, castrate and worm. Has cooled down from storm night before last high in 60's today. You also have bountiful day...Hugs
Be safe and watch out for the rogue bovines!
Hugs!!
Spring is my favourite season, not too cold and not too hot.
Asparagus and Corn 🌽 Love 'em both. 💋
