I think we can only get milkshakes here in the Land of the Rising Sun π€
The Japanese coffee shop (kissa-ten) version of a milkshake is drop a raw egg in a blender, add milk and sugar, mixed it up and serve the frothy goodness in a tall glass with a straw. (I can hear ya'll in the States going ewwwww!!! )
If they used orange juice instead of milk, would it be an Orange Julius? The original when they still used egg. People sucked those suckers down
The shake I really like to have which I hard to find is banana made real old school methods. The is a old school shop in St louis at 14th st and St louis. It is been in business since the 1950. People come from around the USA have its ice creams and candy's which are made right there. Also it's BLT is amazing π
I wonder if my father ever took us there. I spent some of my young kid years in a burb of St. Louis
Malts arenβt common here, so I donβt π€ think I have ever had one.
I'm picturing you dressed like that, in line to get food. hehehe
I stay away from shakes and malts. Boring, I know. We have Dairy Queens around here.
I drink water when I am out
Prefer a malt, but not too much malt in it
Chocolate shake. Cookies and cream sometimes.
Sounds like a good Dairy Bar I sure wish we had one here. I prefer shakes myself, as I used to get one at our Foster Freeze and it was a Hot Fudge Shake. They now use Ice Milk which isn't good so we stopped going there years ago.
Sounds like you got a lot accomplished, and I hope you both enjoy a very sexy and happy hump day....
Years ago, my sister worked at Wendy's. Their Frosty's were simply frozen chocolate ice milk. I am not sure if they still use it.
Hugs!!
Hello Pony Luv, sounds like a good outing for you and cowboy. I'm still jealous of the rain.
I like either of the two and my favorite flavor combo is strawberry and chocolate. Though in spring mint chocolate chip is good too. While living in Japan I went to the local McD's and ordered the spring shake (it was green so naturally I thought it was the typical shamrock shake), imagine my surprise when I found it to be matcha flavored. Nothing better than a grassy taste in your mouth when you think it will be mint. Lesson learned, never ordered a shake based on the color. Well... Except for the purple shake, it was ube flavor as I was hoping it would be. Chuckle.
Grassy and shake do not go together, LOL. That sounds like we're out in the pasture slurping from the cow and sharing her grass, LOL.
Hugs!!
I love milkshakes, especially chocolate milkshakes. I've never had a malt. What is it?
They put malt powder in the cup with the ice cream and whatever flavor you choose. America also has malted milk balls which are chocolate covered balls of malt.
Anyway, I oogled the actual malt ....
Malt powder is a fine powder made from malted grains, typically barley, that have been dried and ground. It is commonly used in baking and cooking to add a rich, sweet, and nutty flavor to recipes. There are two main types: malt powder, which is just the ground malted grains, and malted milk powder, which includes milk solids and is often used in milkshakes and candies.
@PonyGirl1965 Thanks for explaining what a malt is.
You are going to have some great eating soon. Nothing like fresh pork. It is according to mood in for flavor of my shake. Farm girls don't dress to impress they just impress....Hugs
Thank you!! I laugh at what I wear. I wasn't going to get my people-ing clothes dirty unloading the hog
Hugs!!
Hello from California. Thanks for the story, and the advice. We, too, have our share of the wet and muddy weather, and there's been many a trip to the Central Valley for horses and such where I wish I had brought another change of clothes, and boots. I swear by my WeatherTech mats for my four by, and yeah, Hefty bags over the leather seats....I wish we had the Dairy chain of stores/shops out here......Thanks for sharing, and good on you two....Cheers on the milkshakes!!!!
I always assume the livestock plans on humbling me right down into the muck, LOL. So I travel prepared
Hugs!!
I prefer the shakes, malts leave a funny taste in my mouth that I donβt care forβ¦
I'm not fond of malts either. Cowboy loves them so he was a happy dude
