I have seen the endless year end reviews and summaries on social media and various blogs. They make me laugh. I very rarely keep score of my life. I just keep working to be a better human. Have more fun and laughter. Share more love.
In 2024 I learned I am too nice and let people walk on me - use me - take advantage. I will be working to be better and firmer in the new year. I'm gonna be a mean ol witch

Funny, I just read this after writing my end of year summary. I do it to reflect on the good in my life that often gets lost if I don't take a moment to be grateful for it.
We should always cling to the good. They are what makes life worthwhile.
It's the negative stuff we need to shed.

I have little doubt that you are "too nice". But you gotta be who you are! Being nice, even too so, is one thing. Letting others take advantage of you is quite another.

Happy New Year Pony! I do not think you will ever manage to be a mean old witch even when you are standing up more for yourself as I expect you will do so politely. Still, there are guys out there who seem to feel that any woman who does so is a mean old witch.
I do not keep score of my life either. Doing so can too often lead to negative feelings. I also do not read the modern bit of the annual Christmas brag letter on-line. They have always seemed like brags and tend to only tell of the high good points even if the events need stretching.
I am hoping to meet Diane today so I expect it will be glorious. (Had hoped to wake up in her arms this morning but was not feeling well the past two days so missed that. Am feeling just fine this morning.

@PonyGirl1965 If one has any way of avoiding contact with toxic people it is a wise thing to do. This includes toxic family. As for your manners I am sure yours are impeccable. Despite what too many people think, good manners matter. Unfortunately toxic people rarely have a clue.
I had a delightful day, night and most of today with Diane. That is why my HNW will be a day late as well as my last week of '24 summary.
