How are you tonight? Have you been watching the moon? It is full on the arrival of the Summer Solstice. Lot's of excitement in nature today.
Holy moly!! I was reading your blogs and needed to tinkle. I hopped up and headed to the little girls room. Just after sitting down, I saw a dark spider rushing my way. Eeek!!
Not a typical spider. This spider is shaped like the spiders from the movie Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Long legs in front of the spider body. He was almost 3 inches across from leg to leg.
I am a goofball and freak a little over normal spiders and really get jumpy from the weird ones.
So peculiar spider is rushing my way - I guess he is hungry? I lean over to snatch the shoe off my foot and smack him.
Whew! He is still on the bathroom rug a few inches from my foot. It was a good thing I was on the throne or I might have wet myself, LOL.
I keep a close eye on him and finish my business. Standing up, I grabbed an extra 2 squares of tissue then lean over to pick up the dead corpse. I straighten and look but cannot find spidey in the tissue.
Oh fudge.
I shake out my nightgown. Take both shoes off and shake them. Look around everywhere because seriously where does a big spider hide?
I tell myself its fine, move on. I flush the toilet. Then catch a dark spot over by the wall, from the corner of my eye.
I must have tossed him over when I was straightening up.
I get more tissue, lean down, reach for spider ... and the bastard rushes me again!
I leap back out of his reach, then take aim and stomp him!
Take that spidey!!
Now dude is doing the funky chicken twitching.
I pick him up and toss him in the toilet, flushing again while watching to be sure he goes down.
What freaky spider rushes humans, plays dead, then rushes humans a second time? Dude must have leaped out of the tissue the first time.
So that's my little adventure and cardio for tonight, LOL.

Ah, the peculiar spider – the unexpected cardio coach of the bathroom!
Your play-by-play had me chuckling. It’s like the spider was auditioning for a horror movie: “Spider: The Sequel – Revenge of the Arachnid!”
And hey, you handled it like a champ! I mean, who needs a treadmill when you’ve got a spider sprinting toward you? Cardio, check! Reflexes, check! And a touch of adrenaline to spice up your evening – double check!
As for the Summer Solstice and the full moon, it seems Mother Nature decided to throw in some bonus excitement. Maybe that peculiar spider was just celebrating the cosmic alignment by doing its interpretive dance routine.
Stay safe out there, and if you hear any mysterious howling, just remember: It’s either the moon or another spider doing vocal warm-ups. Either way, you’re covered!
Keep those shoes handy – you never know when the next peculiar creature might waltz in!

@PonyGirl1965 I dislike them too. There was a big one crawling down my bedroom wall (likely due to all the recent rain) that I had deal with while posting this comment.
I leave spiders alone since they eat bugs. I haven't seen any that will make me go like, nope, and turn around.
I'm ok if they leave me alone. When they seem to want to be my best friend, I opt out, LOL.
Any kind of spider or bug that won't immediately die when whacked with a shoe? No thank you. Better not cross my path - and even worse when indisposed on the toilet. Yikes! We looked at the nearly full moon last night. Enjoy tonight. You might need to take a moonlight dip in your pond!

Even though we are so much bigger than spiders, I still hate them.
They scare me too.
I was cleaning my pool this week and opened one of the strainer lids, it was a mess of spider webs in there. That is when I noticed the shiny black body of a spider on the underside of the lid. Using the hose I blasted said spider into the pool. Ms. Widow sank like a rock onto the seat part of the pool and kinda chilled out there. Until she drowned. Here egg sacks were crushed and sent through the pump filters. That is the 2nd time I have found a black widow at this house.
Good for you!! I kill black widows and still find more. If I know where the egg sack is, I burn it. There is a never ending supply of spiders.

And that is why .... when picking up a dead spider with tissue ... that I also crumple the crap out of that tissue before tossing it in the toilet!!
I 'thought' I crumpled it. Turns out he was out before I got to that point, LOL.

When the spiders are outside they are are ok but my wife hates them when they are the house. If she sees any in the house a spider hunt is called for 😁

I'm not sure how I would handle that, I think even the 'picking up with toilet paper' maneuver would freak me out on a bug of that size.

Wow! If you are going to have a cardio event when alone it should be caused by some of the toys in your toy bag. Most certainly not a demented spider.
We have had too many clouds to be able to enjoy the full moon. I will be driving Diane to Aztalan Park today to do her Solstice meditation. Then a bit of a ramble with a stop off in Watertown for an Irish Cream Hot Fudge Sundae at an old fashioned ice cream shop that still makes their own ice cream. Been in business since the 1920s.
I intend to pack an essential or two to stay the night with Diane. Will be reading an erotic story "Naked Woman Playing Chopin" and perhaps other erotica to her sometime today. Hopefully with us both naked.
