Countdown to school start

Even though I planned for a month plus of SELF CARE just to relax before my school starts on April 1st, I found myself even more busier!!!

Another China tenant left suddenly last week... due to the heavy drilling works in my block for adding a new lift for both extreme ends of the block. He's a night shift worker and of course he can't sleep well in the days. So the moment he found other accommodation, he just packed up and left on the spot. He was only here for the past coming 6 months so I can't find fault if he doesn't wish to continue either.

Damn, in 3 months since this year... I lost a tenant per month! And I needed the income for providing for my household. With the lift upgrading project scheduled to complete only 1st quarter of next year, it is hard finding new tenant! Even my neighbour next door lost all her tenants and she has to get agent to get newly arrival tenants from oversea who will usually sign a 6 months contract. But once they know how noisy and dusty the place is, they will also shift out by end of the contract.

So I decided to rent out to international students that's coming for my bible school too. Usually we will be out for classes in the day, so the noise disturbance will be a lesser issue to them. And I can have two study mates to go to school together. Maybe if they're allocated the same weekend services, we can go together as well. Our school term will end in Oct for 6 months course. By then, hopefully the Lift Upgrading is also completed (as we were told if the weather is good, the works can complete by 4-5 months!)

After that, then I will look for new tenants again.

But the past few weeks, we were busy decluttering the extra study room which was used as store room. I have 3 common rooms, which I rented two rooms out to China tenants with 4 paxs in one room each. The students that are coming end of this month are from India. So I have to throw away two single beds... then shift all my study room stuff into boxes and placed them inside one of the China tenants' room (where there's only 2 paxs using a doubled dunk now). So I can also get another double bunk bed to put in the study room for the Indian students.

In the process, I also ordered more big items (clothes hanging system, wardrobe, etc) from China which will be arriving on next Monday. I also throw away a gym bike, a large portable bathtub, a massage bed to clear up more space for my home. I also gotten a new matt black bar fridge using free climate voucher from my government, so that I can use my older white LG bar fridge for my study room. As my common rooms are all non air-con, each room has a fridge to store chilled drinks in case the tenants feel hot in our SG humid climate. Lastly, I also ordered two big office size cabinets to store all my essential items, and won't look so cluttered.

So you can imagine the hassles with so much new changes in the home. I barely rested much either, as I still have endless social event meetings and medical follow up appointments plus my thrice a week's dialysis. And with the cannulation that often caused bruises here and there on my AV fistula arm... I am feeling rather weak lately, not forgetting I'm into my 32nd day of my 40 days fast doing intermittent fasting up to 19 hours, only eating between 12pm-5pm window period.

This is why I seems not blogging much lately... too many stuff on my plate to do.

The only fun thing I did was going on FB and trying out an old game from long ago. Well, my old online farm is GONE! So I have to start all over again! But I did have fun listening to the nature sounds of animals and doing some farming to pass time for 2 days straight! Then I realised it was too addictive and I have to learn to stop myself. Staring at the screen non stop is giving me neck pain and making my eyes so sore that I even had a headache! Too much screen time isn't so good for me either.

I still have less than 10 days to prepare for the students... and hopefully everything goes well! The church agent will be coming tomorrow to view the study room and discuss the rental agreement. Actual payment is only when they arrives. Meanwhile, I still have one more slot for the other China tenants' room... now only left 3 paxs in there. I am still posting online ads but the responses are so far only scammers trying to fish info. I'm hoping for real deal, not these annoying scammers.

I only hope the rest of the month I can get some good rest before the school starts.
