Healing process

Due to that gallstone pain and being put on 3 weeks on very strong antibiotics plus strong painkillers, I felt not myself for quite awhile. I experienced weird panic moods, anxiety like the whole room is tightening around me, to the point that I also started to read things differently from a normal point of view. I felt like my own mental health was slipping away... I no longer enjoy music the way I used to... everything seems uninteresting for me to want to try.

So I goggled... and discovered these.

The original antidepressants were derived from antimicrobial agents and remain effective antidepressants. However, with the increasing use of antibiotics, there are accumulating data indicating their negative impact on mental health. Overall, antibiotics increase the prevalence of both depression and anxiety. Antibiotics can also kill bacteria that produce neurotransmitters like GABA, dopamine, and serotonin, and that may affect your cognition and mood.

I also found out seizures, twitching, and hallucinations can be caused by penicillin, imipenem-cilastin, cephalosporins, or ciprofloxacin, which the latter was one of the antibiotics prescribed to me. No wonder I am seeing things not there... like reading texts wrongly, etc.

The good news here is that when the antibiotics are discontinued, the mental issues typically resolves. So far I only stopped after finishing the dosages since Monday... it might takes some time for all the weird effects to wear off from my system.

So I need more time to rest and heal... as I try not to over schedule myself with too much works. Sometimes I even might have to be wise to cancel some events if needed. Like the bible verse, "There is a time for everything" appears in the Bible in Ecclesiastes 3:1-11

So I need to be wise and let my body, my brain heals from all that extra burden of chemicals which messed up my normal function. I am glad I did my zoom meetings and other meet ups for the week to catch up on the schedule I lost in the 3 weeks of being sick. I'm proud that I made it up to the people that waited for me as I promised them the sharing of testimony to inspire and encourage them. I did my best and my part as promised and I am so happy that they loved the messages too.

Now I just look forward to a quiet weekend to rest. Whether I will go to church this Sunday will depend on my body function in the morning too. I'm not gotten push my body over the limits. I can still watch from online if my body don't feel well to go. Unless I can get someone to go with me by pushing me in my wheelchair and overseeing me, I do worried if I can be out alone as I was feeling dizzy on Friday morning too. Not wise to get myself into trouble out there alone.

I'm not gotten hide the fact I can feel weak on some days. I'm not a superwoman and GOD do permit rest when necessary.
