Last Friday was a pretty hot day to be outdoor... I had to travel under the direct sun with no shelter with another wheelchair user friend and his caregiver for over 30 minutes just to make it to the other end of the Garden by the Bay where the function rooms are located for a mental health event.
I felt sad to see that my friend just got his leg amputated under the knee. And he just started on dialysis too. So the heat got into him and before our first workshop was over, I saw him slumped in his wheelchair, looking pale and soon unresponsive. And his caregiver called the ambulance which came and took him away. I was by his side when this happened... so I didn't even went for the Flower Dome and other attractions as I saw him off.
Sigh, sometimes it is hard in the beginning when one get sick... one might not know the limitations how far one can go in order to be normal to mingle with the rest of the able bodied people who are healthy. Not all activities are suitable for those who are just learning to adapt to their health limitations. He was just discharged from the hospital few days ago, he ought to be resting first.
His situation reminded me to be more prudent in my decisions making too. I still have to finish my whole 3 weeks course of 2 antibiotics so I'm gotten rest for the weekend too.
Because for the Coffee appreciation, they took out the strong black coffee brewed from a more potent Sumatra blend. I only sipped a bit and my weak heart started to have weird palpitations. I immediately stopped trying.
I have to be more careful next time trying stuff not suitable for dialysis patient with heart condition like me. These days I barely drink the very diluted local packaging Coffee black too, only maybe just once a week.
I'm just glad that I came home safe and sound, even though the weather out there was really very hot to handle for my health. I will have to think twice on nature parks event again.

I’m sorry your friend was ill and hope he will be alright and I’m happy you are still getting out and enjoying yourself, although you need to take the proper precautions when it’s very hot.
@Dusty_bawls02 I'm trying to push myself a bit more... to get back to society a step at a time. So when a chance to socialize, I do try my best to attend if possible. And yes, I'm also learning to be more careful in this type of heat out there.
Very hot temperatures are rarely anyone's friend health-wise.
@spunkycumfun For newly dialysis patients, they might not be used to the idea fluid limit of 800ml per day. And out in the hot sun is not advisable for this group too. I'm on dialysis for 4 years so I know what to look out for. It's sad to see him collapse like that.
