The Monkey King

Recently due to the new video game "Black Myth: Wukong' , there's a renewed interest in this Chinese legend. Even youngster gamers in the west gotten interested in it. The game is inspired by the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West and follows an anthropomorphic monkey based on Sun Wukong from the novel.

Well, I always joked my Hubby is the Tang Monk while I'm the Monkey King. This is a piece I written back in 2020 during the Covid lockdown.

老公和我， 我们的奇妙关系就像是唐三藏和孫悟空。
当年相逢，他已因家里的无情，打算出家做和尚了。
而我呢，早已过着无父无母，自己闯天下的日子。
好胜好学，什么都做，学习苦读72变的人生经验。
但看到这无知无助，傻傻笨笨，思想单纯的他，
我决定保护守候他，要让他过着正常人的生活。
在社会的磨练中，我早已练会火眼金金看人的本事。
这一生中，不知帮他打跑了多少个要利用他的妖怪。
我也常常被气得要死，因他的善良，老是好坏不分。
也为了他，搞到自己遍体鳞伤，奄奄一息破旧的身体。
哈哈，就当我上辈子欠他的吧！谁叫我喜欢上他这个傻小子。

My husband and I, our wonderful relationship is like Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong. When we met that year, he had already planned to become a monk because of the ruthlessness of his family.

As for me, I have already lived a life without a father or a mother, trying to make my own way in the world. Be competitive and eager to learn, do everything, and study hard to learn 72 changes in life experience. But seeing this ignorant, helpless, stupid, simple-minded person, I decided to protect him and let him live a normal life.

In the training of society, I have already developed the ability to judge people with a sharp eye.
In this life, I have helped him fight off countless monsters who wanted to take advantage of him.
I am often pissed off to death because of his kindness, he always makes no distinction between good and bad.

Because of him, I ended up with bruises all over my body and a dying and worn-out body.
