Weekend coming

Been another busy week, having non stop meetings throughout. Today is Friday and I decided to give myself a treat. Been a long time since I have these traditional food as it will cost me about SGD $1 per piece if I order from food delivery.

So I went online and made my order for uncooked version through the local mart. The satay cost about 50 cents per piece, while the otak otak is about 30 cents. I didn't cook over charcoal as that will be a lot of cleaning up to do, I just bake in the oven. Turned out not too bad too.

It's nice to enjoy this on a relaxing Friday. Hubby ate a bit only as his stomach isn't well these days. The weather has been hot and food went bad easier. This is also why I rather buy them raw and bake them myself. A few times we have gotten otak otak from stalls outside that have gone bad in this heat too. Best to prepare our own food and eat them while piping hot.

And I put aside some of the paperwork to rest today, as I felt very tired and needed a decent time off to recoup. My body was aching like I'm under the weather for days already with a mild fever. So I took panadol and slept it off. Been a long time since I have uninterrupted sleep over 8 hours.

With good food and nice sleep, I hope the rest of this month I can have more time to relax. I have to remind myself not to over commit. I did struggle about not attending the bible study group but I told myself, health comes first now. I'm not wise to go out unassisted when I'm really ill. I also cancel next Monday's another VWO event to see the SG garden Festival as Hubby's IMH appointment clashes with it. I also didn't force myself to join the charity organization's mass walk last Sat as I know my body won't be able to take it under the hot sun from 9am-12pm.

Yes, I did feel a bit defeated... knowing my body limitations. But I think the greatest dilemma was in these activities, they are healthy beings so they do not understand or notice my plight. As much as I wanted to hang out with new people, I am sad that they are not able to understand how much effort I needed to put in to join them. Thus, a part of me is feeling tired mentally for trying so hard, even putting my own safety in danger, spend extra money to get out of my house using expensive medical van transport or hired rides just to venture out to find friends. I think I need to re-evaluate if this is wise when inflation is hitting my monthly budgeting.

A part of myself also ask, instead of spending so much to go out to find friendships, why don't I spent it on buying good food to enjoy with my Hubby instead. And have a bit of time for myself to catch up on sleep and rest. I have to admit, the past 2 months of non stop social events is wearing me out. I know time for me to have more ME TIME to focus on other aspects that are more important, like finding ways to get new tenants. The market is sooooo quiet, only one person messaged back but it was just a scammer fishing for info. These days, too many scammers online and very difficult to find real tenants and I don't wish to go through property agents when I will have to pay the agents and lose the first month fees.

A lot of things on my mind... a step at a time. Let me recoup back my strength with enough rest (mental wellness) and good food that nourishes my health... then I'm ready to think of more ideas to plan next week again.
