Worth it?

Missed 2 days of my normal medications, in order not to get overdose while having to take my flu & cough med. After a good rest yesterday, at least feeling slightly better. Today can get back to my normal med routine.

Honestly, maybe I have to think of my health limitation. Going back for the hybrid night mental wellness classes, I am not aware if now the organization also allowed people to bring their therapy pets along. I know they have been encouraging people to bring pets for their walks or community activities, but I never expected to see a course member brought along her pet toy poodle to class.

Despite her claims that toy poodles' hairs curled inwards and won't shed so won't be an issue to people who are sensitive to fur, but I don't feel well after coming home that night. The poor much older Malay coursemate sitting next to her even had asthma triggered and wasn't well for the next 2 lessons, plus another older Indian gentleman also fallen sick so 3 of us were absent the following Face to Face lesson as we opt to Zoom instead. (I think we were too polite to point that out.)

Plus, it was distracting too with the toy poodle keep making noises in the midst of the lessons or running across the table. I really don't think it is healthy to be stuck in closed room air con environment with pets like that for over 2-3 hours. It's not just the hair issues, animals have other infections that can pass onto humans, especially those with lower immunity problems like me and the older coursemates.

I don't know... I mean it is good to be inclusive... but not all groups can be included together. I love animals too but I need to step back for my health sake. I don't mind if they bring their pets for open air community events, but not for closed room indoor aircon classes where they're putting others at risk of airborne diseases from their pets. Really not appropriate at all.

I do have question about her term of 'therapy dog'... whether it is just her pet dog or a real dog that did went for training. Because with training, a good therapy dog doesn't run around but know how to sit and behave. I really don't like people using this term just to get their way to bring their pets wherever they want.

Sigh, my NKF therapist encouraged me to go out and enjoy the world while I can... but these trips out seems to make me more sick... people not wearing masks and coughing over me while I sat down in church... going for classes yet having animals inside the room passing don't know what diseases till 3 coursemates including me fall sick.

I'm beginning to question myself too if it is worth getting so sick after spending so much just to go out to join people for activities. I can understand why some poor health elderlies don't want to socialize. Coz who want to get more sick again and again after socializing. Maybe I have to consider going back to the online world where it is safer for me to socialize without getting more sick.

Anyway, I still got the graduation next week to attend in person. But the Malay coursemate with asthma already not coming but choose to receive her e-cert through her email. I think she's also avoiding to be in the same room with that therapy dog again. As for me, I will try to wear mask for that event. Hopefully I won't fall sick again... ...
