I always thought that the person celebrating the birthday was supposed to be treated special by friends and family and spoiled on their birthday and not have to cater to the people attending and considering you have a medical procedure scheduled shortly be your birthday you shouldn’t have to provide and do all the work yourself.
As for going out to celebrate, why not? It sounds like a good idea. I know it’s hot right now and in Thailand it’s no different, I know I get cooked every day lol. I’m sure nobody would care if you went to restaurant with good AC and had your celebration there in fact your guest might even appreciate it.
But at the end of the day it’s your birthday, so you do whatever makes you the happiest and enjoy yourself.

I agreed with you too, but guess my friends ain't the type to spoil me. So I need new friends! Haha!
But adult friendships are hard these days, everyone is so busy with their own lives and commitments. Plus as we get older, the diet needs changes and so hard to plan for a meal out sometimes. So I still trying to see how to plan for this upcoming birthday. As you also reminded me, try to plan for something that makes me happy!
And yessss, I saw the News earlier highlighting the sweltering heat in the SE region. How hot is Thailand now? I heard some areas in Thai are higher than 40 degrees! Omg, no wonder you're cooked! Best to stay indoor in aircon and drink more refreshing cooling drink to keep yourself hydrated too, my friend.
@Lady_Elizabella .
I think it’s always good to make new friends , but you’re right, sometimes it can be difficult. I don’t go out of my way these days to meet people, but I’m always polite and willing to talk to different people and does form some new friendships.
I live in Chiang Mai and we have had temperatures in high 30s and low 40s here over the past few weeks and it’s extremely uncomfortable. But I do try to stay indoors and keep myself hydrated.
