I laugh because like most of you on this site. No matter if its male or female, we have all dealt with the annoying things that happen or that you see happen on the dating side. Can you even consider it an actual dating app? How can it really be a dating app when a lot if not most of the profiles are fake. They are either fake or are people with some hidden agenda. Well to start out, if it is an agenda, that usually means that their intentions could have nefarious undertones.
It could mean that they just want to get laid. What is wrong with that? Well nothing really, unless they really have to lie about themselves and how they may look or age just to get you to talk to them.
They may just be looking for someone to grift. If you don't know what that means, use a dictionary, most will define it. (Urban Dictionary for sure)
See the point that I am making. If you put the folks you find on that side of the app in categories, you may find that the ones you may notch as nefarious will out number the legit members who are looking for a partner.
I will admit, that after my first year on this site, I was actually about to cancel my membership because as someone who has been on dating apps before, the riff raff I was seeing let me to believe it was a waste of time. At this current moment my feelings haven't changed, but it was the community side that convinced me to stay.
The fact that I can interact with bloggers on this site and share thoughts and ideas with, allowed me to blog about things. In time, this part of the app convinced me to stay.
So, in my interactions on of blogs that I follow, the topic of the fake profiles has reared its ugly head. You may wonder, how does he know that those nefarious people are ugly??? Well all you have to do if you find yourself bored and enjoy playing search for the fakers ( I seldom have time for this but believe me it doesn't take a whole lot of effort ) seek and ye shall find.
Here is an example of someone who posted a profile. She has a distinct tattoo in the photo. She has her location and some info that is written out....blah, blah, blah.
The second pic has the same person. Same tattoo in the same area, but different state and different blah, blah, blah. Although written in the same format which could be the same person writing both profiles.
It's when I see crap like this on the site where the idea of a dating site loses all integrity. I sometimes think, maybe it is the sites way of making their site more interesting that it has all of these people looking to date so the fill it up with fake profiles. Maybe the guy they hired for the job is some poor shmuck who is sitting in front of the computer in his underwear watching TV while he tries to get pictures of people to post who really don't exist. I don't have the answer to it. All I can say is keep your eyes open. Examine what you see. See what they post and verify what you see. If someone says their eye color is black and yet the picture they post someone with blue eyes. The person making the fake post is slipping up.

It’s a sad fact that all dating sites are riddled with nefarious actors. People on sites desperately looking for love are prime targets. But then, so are dudes desperately looking to get laid 🙄
Agreed. But it isn't just one group or the other. There are A-holes on both sides. I remember years ago when dating sites were still new, you can find interesting people to date. Real people!
Now, it's like a hot bed of weird and not so nice people. From the crazies to the con artist looking to make a buck from you. Let's face it, someone looking for love online seems like a neon sign saying, look at me I am desperate!

There were tons of fun people to date or just hang out with back in the early days of joining this site. Nowadays, not so much.
@JN63JPN I agree. When I first started using dating apps when the first began, it was really nice. At least for me women seemed more genuine. Now, it seems they have an agenda. Either they are lying about something, or they want to see what they can get from you.
Don't folks what to meet someone they find interesting? Someone they can explore life with. That's what I always hoped to find but now, I don't think I want to jump into the game because the rules don't apply anymore. So, what's the point?

@JN63JPN Yes, I enjoy reading the blogs and the few friendships I have made. I could care less about the whole dating side. The reason I have stayed is because of the blogs (sad I know) but at least I enjoy interacting with folks.
I'm pleased I have little reason to go over to the other side, the Dating side.
