BUSINESS AS USUAL

It’s been weeks since my last posts. I have been sick with a cold. The worst in a very long time. The Winters in the Midwest are so unforgiving. I am starting to get me sea legs so to speak and wanted to share a resent experience I had on this site.

I know that this platform has its issues and all and I guess my experience on here is no different than most. I don’t come on to AFF looking to date someone. I gave up on that rodeo a few months after I signed on. I stayed because of the acquaintances I have made in the community side of the platform.

Anyway, I notice from time-to-time women frequenting my profile and figured that most are either not real people or are scammers looking for their next con. So come across a woman keeps looking at my profile. She isn’t a paid member so I figured maybe this is her way of getting my attention.

I figured I would play along and see what her angle was. I sent her a message and she wrote back. We went thru our initial formalities and she asked if I can give her my number to text.

First off, her profile stated she is close enough in my state. I realize that doesn’t mean squat since folks use G**gle to use a number to indicate they live in the same area. I live in the Midwest and I use one of those numbers for my phone since I use to live in Florida and haven’t changed my number. It makes it easier than explaining why I still have that number. So, this morning I get a text from this woman. We go through the paces of the formalities. She asks me about my day. She continues to ask questions which I have no issues with. I am pretty straight forward and am an open book with in reason but I chose to say before continuing with my answers that if we are going to ask questions we should also divulge our own response to the question we ask to each other.

I asked her questions and whether she got the point or not, it felt as though she didn’t answer my question. That bothered me, because I felt she was either hiding something leading me to believe the things she may be saying are not what they seem. I do a search from the area code that she is texting me from and she is in Texas.

I ask her, where are you located at and says she is in Texas. Her profile said the Midwest and I am thinking, maybe if she started her question with if I was willing to know someone from another state? I wouldn’t have an issue with that but if you are going to post where you are from on a profile, how about being truthful and honest?

I proceeded to wish her the best of luck and that her being from Texas wasn’t what I was looking for. I went back on the site and blocked her.

What I learned about the site is that there are a lot of people on it with a hidden agenda. Rather than being honest and talk to someone and get to know them they don’t realize that some people don’t want to deal with that BS. I can understand a person taking precautions and in time you share more intimate and personal information but that happens when trust is earned.
