I read a lot of stuff online and in the written media. As I grown wiser in years (I hope) I tend to reflect a lot on the the material I absorb trough those mediums.
The following are just some of those things I have learned. This is just my opinion and as they say, opinions are like belly buttons, everybody has one.
Rule 1:
Never shake a hand sitting down.
Rule 2:
Protect who is behind you, and respect who is beside you.
Rule 3:
Never insult the cooking when you are the guest.
Rule 4:
Never eat the last piece of something you didn't buy.
Rule 5:
Never make the first offer in a negotiation.
Rule 6:
Don't take credit for work you didn't do.
Rule 7:
Take the blame, and give credit when due.
Rule 8:
If you are not invited, don't ask to go.
Rule 9:
Always aim for the head.
Rule 10:
Don't beg for a relationship.
Rule 11:
Listen, nod, and most of all make eye contact.
Rule 12:
Dress well no matter what the occasion.
Rule 13:
Show restraint in expressing anger, no matter what. Being angry is a waste of energy.
Rule 14:
Whether it's dinner, drinks or both, avoid placing your phone on the dinner table.
Rule 15:
Always carry cash.
Rule 16:
Ask more than you answer.
Rule 17:
Proper grammar will get you far in life. Leave the foul language for the less educated.
Rule 18:
You can tell a great deal about a person by their handshake, so make yours strong and firm.
Rule 19:
Never pose with alcohol.
Rule 20:
Speak honestly. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

All good advice, though Rule 15 may soon become redundant.
I, for one, usually pay with a card or with an app on my phone but I still carry cash. In fact, I prefer paying the tip on a bill in cash even though I pay with plastic or an app.
